Safflower oil is an excellent source of omega 6 & 3 essential fatty acids (also known as vitamin F). Safflower Oil is particularly high in omega 6 (up to 81%). The high linoleic acid content present in safflower oil is what gives it its moisturizing properties. Linoleic acid is excellent at breaking up blackheads, unclogging pores, and balancing the sebum levels of the skin (excess sebum is one of the main causes of acne). This makes Safflower Oil a great carrier oil for the oil cleansing method – especially for those with acne-prone and oily skin. Although most skin types react well to safflower oil, Safflower is a member of the ragweed family and the oil should be avoided by those with ragweed allergies.
